Two big ideas: housing & teenagers

We are combining two big ideas – housing and educating teenagers – with a fresh, innovative approach to both.

New Community Vision is hosting a reception at the inspiring Sacred Keepers Sustainability Lab, where children learn sustainability with a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) curriculum. You know this is a good program if teenagers become engaged.

Toni Anderson, Sacred Keepers founder, and executive director took teenagers to Kenya in 2015 and 2016 to walk in the steps of 2004 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Wangari Maathai. In 2017 they traveled to the Grand Canyon to study indigenous cultures.

At this reception, you will see that home sharing with compatible housemates can be a satisfying, economical lifestyle. It sure beats struggling to pay the rent or mortgage, eating frozen dinners by yourself, and setting the thermostat to 60 degrees to avoid a high heating bill.

Our strategy is partnering with congregations and community groups to create frequent opportunities for their members to socialize. You will meet others you look forward to seeing again. Eventually, relationships may form, and that opens up pleasant possibilities for friendship, mutual support and perhaps even more.

Who should attend?

Anyone who wonders if a congenial lifestyle living with others is possible. Anyone who longs for a richer community experience. Anyone who wants to be inspired by people creatively and innovatively tackling some of the daunting challenges of our time. Anyone who wants to see a challenging environment that engages children.

ReceptionPlease come to this reception to learn about New Community Vision's strategy to solve our intertwined challenges of housing, isolation, and lean finances. Meeting at Sacred Keepers Sustainability Lab, you will see a new approach to educate teenagers with a curriculum that engages and excites them.
