Description: Jump-start Art is a not for profit all volunteer organization that believes in the power of the art to influence personal identity through the aesthetic experience. JSA facilitates the gifting of donated art to recipients, who have not had the opportunity or inclination to own original art work, through established community based organizations. More than 200 works of art have been gifted through the Howard Area Community Center, Casa Central, Mercy –Lake Front Housing, W.I.N.G.S. and the Northwestern Settlement House. The exhibit at Mess Hall includes art work donated by students at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and will be gifted to participants in a literacy program at HACC and to clients at Housing Options.
